29Metals Engages Byrnecut for Gossan Valley Underground Mining
29Metals has selected Byrnecut Australia as the underground mining contractor for the Gossan Valley project, following a competitive tender process. Byrnecut, already the contractor for the adjacent Gossan Hill and Scuddles mines, will integrate operations to optimize equipment and personnel use across Golden Grove.
The Gossan Valley mine, approximately 7km south of Gossan Hill, has an initial six-year life and is expected to achieve first ore by the end of 2026. The project hosts 1.2 million tonnes in ore reserves and a total mineral resource of 5.6 million tonnes grading 1.1% copper, 5.5% zinc, 0.6g/t gold, and 18g/t silver. The development supports Golden Grove’s life-of-mine plan by providing a higher-grade replacement ore source.
- Initial mine life: six years; planned mining rate: up to 585,000 tonnes per annum
- Ore reserve: 1.2 million tonnes; combined mineral resource: 5.6 million tonnes
- Contractor: Byrnecut Australia; Project owner: 29Metals; Location: Western Australia
