Queensland Completes Seismic Survey to Map Critical Mineral Resources

The Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ) has finalized the Boodjamulla–Croydon Deep Seismic Programme, a $4.5 million effort deploying Vibroseis trucks to conduct seismic surveys across North-West Queensland. The project focused on identifying and mapping previously undiscovered deposits of critical minerals essential for advanced manufacturing and clean energy technologies.

The comprehensive geophysical data collected will be used to refine resource estimates and inform both exploration strategies and regulatory frameworks. The results are expected to facilitate more targeted exploration, streamline permitting processes, and support Queensland’s position as a key supplier of critical minerals to global markets.
